As of January 1, 2023, WhatsApp support for dozens of older phones will end. It concerns both iPhones and various Android phones. The reasons for this include the age of the devices and their use. This will be made known to users of these telephones via several notifications.
WhatsApp support ends for 47 phones
WhatsApp will no longer work on 47 phones from the new year. The chat service cites several reasons for this:
- Age of the devices
- Lack of use
- Lack of the latest security updates
- Certain functionalities (which are necessary for WhatsApp to work properly) may be missing
This is certainly not the first time WhatsApp has stopped working on multiple phones. In October, the chat service stopped support on all iPhones with iOS 11 and older.
