Music streaming service Spotify and the popular fitness app Strava are entering a new integration where you can control the music directly from the workout screen. You no longer have to have two apps open at the same time and keep switching to control the music during your run. Spotify announced the new integration today in a press release.
Operate Spotify through Strava
Strava is one of the most popular fitness apps and is especially popular among runners and cyclists. Not only can you keep track of your workout, you can also compare your own performance with other Strava users. Comparing these so-called segments with other athletes is one of the main reasons for users to use Strava. Although nowadays you can easily sync with Strava via your Garmin or Polar, you can also start a workout in the app itself. And on this screen you can now also operate Spotify. The new integration lets you play, pause, start, skip songs and browse your Spotify favorites.
For the new integration between Spotify and Strava you need the latest versions of the apps. You can download it from the App Store for iOS or Play Store for Android. You will then find the music controls on the screen where you start a workout (recording screen).
