The 100% Plastic Collect initiative
In 2020, Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas joined forces with Tristan Lecomte, the founder of Pur Projet. They created 100% Plastic Collect, based in both Bali and Thailand, the country ranked 6th in the world in terms of marine pollution.
The 100% Plastic Collect program is run by Second Life, founded by Tristan Lecomte. It is the first in the world to be certified by the Control Union organization, according to the Plastic Reduction Standard of the Verra organization. For example, Caudalie collects and recycles as much plastic as the brand uses.
The amount of plastic used by Caudalie has been stable since 2019, despite the company’s growth. There has been since 2020 Collected 1710 tons of plastic (2).
The plastic is collected on the beaches by the local population. It is then recycled on site into granules that are used again. The program gives waste a second life.
