Panna – 1 against 1
- You play 1 against 1 and you have 3 minutes to score.
- You may have the ball in your possession for a maximum of 15 seconds, after which you must play.
- Scoring is only allowed after crossing the center line.
- You may only score directly, not through the walls.
- If you shoot through the legs of your opponent (panna) you immediately win.
- Panna only counts if you regain possession of the ball immediately.
- A draw is 1 minute extra time with golden goal.
- If no golden goal has been scored within 1 minute, you can choose to play rock-paper-scissors or toss a coin.
Panna – 2 against 2
- You play 2 against 2 and you have 3 minutes to score.
- You may have the ball in your possession for a maximum of 15 seconds, after which you must play (over).
- Scoring is only allowed after crossing the center line.
- You may only score directly, not through the walls.
- If you shoot through the legs of your opponent (panna) you immediately win.
- Panna only counts if your team regains possession immediately.
- A draw is 1 minute extra time with golden goal.
- If no golden goal has been scored within 1 minute, you can choose to play rock-paper-scissors or toss a coin.
Making a panna cage yourself, how do you do that?
You may have children who love the game of panna and practice it in the front or backyard. You look online for a panna cage or football cage, but you come across quite a few prices that may be too crazy for you. You can therefore choose to make a panna cage yourself.
In the video below see a DIY video of a panna court, also called panna arena. In the video they make their own do-it-yourself panna field with doors from Ikea and a few football goals. They were inspired by the organization Panna House.
If you are a nice handyman, you can come a long way with some creativity. A panna field does not necessarily have to be round, but a rectangular shape can also be adopted. For example, various panna or freestyle football organizations have started to realize their own panna or football cage. For example, they used sturdy mdf plates and click systems such as can be found at the local hardware store. See below some examples of panna cages that we made ourselves. These panna cages are easy to assemble and dismantle and can therefore be used as mobile panna cages.

How big is a pancake cage?
A standard square 1 against 1 panna cage has a size of about 6 x 4 meters. When it comes to a round panna cage, it often has a diameter of 5 or 6 meters. A standard square 2 against 2 panna cage has a size of about 10 x 6 or 8 x 6 meters, the preference of panna players (we can say from experience) is 10 x 6 meters. When it comes to oval panna cage, this is about the same dimensions, but it is more game-friendly because there are no corners in the cage, so that the ball is always moving.
Substrate of a panna cage?
A street football player simply likes asphalt or pavement as a surface. If you prefer security, the following options are possible:
- Recycled and water-permeable sports floor
- Sound and fall-absorbing floor
- Artificial grass
- Cement
- Turf / Grass
- Rubber
- Sports floor tiles
- Puzzle mat
