Psychiatrist Dirk de Wachter already warns against it, feeling good seems like a kind of must. And, if it doesn’t work, you need help and it’s a failure. That help must also be provided by a social worker, because you must not burden your social environment with your misery. What about really? Read it here.
Be gentle with yourself
To feel good, it is first necessary that you do not view yourself so mercilessly judgmental. You certainly have control over how you feel, but don’t be too hard on yourself. Sometimes life is just plain difficult and heavy.
Sometimes a quick fix is just what you need to feel better. Think of nurturing outings, such as going to the hairdresser. New things can also help. Buy new clothes. Put on your new suspenders or buy nice smelling proraso for your beard. It quickly makes you or your beard shine again and you can feel it.
Conversation with your close circle
Sometimes more is needed, such as taking care of your social circle. It is nonsense to believe that you really have to do everything alone. We are a society. It’s no shame that sometimes you need someone else. It’s even beautiful. Sharing the difficult things also creates a bond. Of course you want a balance. If a certain friend is always busy with his own misery and you are used as a solution, that’s not nice. It’s just that everyone can use a little support from time to time. That’s no disgrace.
It often happens that someone does not feel well, because there is a deep pain that is touched by various triggers. It does not mean at all that you have to have experienced serious things to have experienced experiences as traumatic. Often there is a pain body active in someone, of which the person is not even aware.
You can often recognize a pain body by the fact that, in relation to what is happening, you react more violently than one would normally expect. In that case, old pain is most likely being touched. Do you want to do something about this? Then it is important that you look at the old pain, feel it and be aware that it is a feeling. Not something you are.
There are several ways to deal with deep pain. Some benefit from psychological help, others, for example, from family constellations or a retreat. The point is you have to figure out what works for you.
