There it is! After nine months of pregnancy and a delivery of several hours, your baby is finally born. The most beautiful moment of your life, until you realize that you now have a lot of social obligations that you feel you have to keep. Or not?
Yes, as a new mom you soon find out that there’s more to it than just changing diapers and enduring sleepless nights. Let’s start with the birth announcement. Because let’s face it, after such a great effort you want to send a card to everyone you know to let them know that your child is finally here. Of course you have to have a nice design. And then it really starts. Because who do you send birth announcements to? Family, friends, acquaintances, colleagues, the neighbors three blocks away, the supermarket cashier… It seems like you have to inform the whole world about the birth of your child, duh!
But it doesn’t stop there. How about organizing a baby shower. Because when you are pregnant, your girlfriends are supposed to surprise you with gifts and games to celebrate the arrival of your baby. And as a new mother you should of course do the same for your girlfriends who are pregnant. And of course you help with the birth announcements for the boy, goes without saying. And while you’re at it, you can also put together a gender reveal party, bake a cake and hang balloons to let the whole gang know if it’s going to be a boy or a girl. But that’s not all. As a new mother you have even more obligations. For example, you also have to organize a maternity party. Because after the birth of your baby, all your friends and family will naturally want to come by to admire your child. And then you have to have enough snacks and drinks and make sure your house looks spick and span.
Enjoy the ride
All those to do’s could drive you crazy. That is why we want to encourage you with this blog. Yes, it might be a bit much sometimes, but! You get a lot of fun in return. Hang in there mama!
