Football: Fortuna and Blauw Wit grab much needed points

Good news in Wormerveer/Westknollendam. Fortuna and Blauw Wit did good business. Both teams played a derby and took 3 important points in the fight against relegation.

VV Jisp continues to fully participate for the promotion places due to a big victory. It will be difficult in Oostzaan, OFC lost to Noordwijk in the 2nd division. Relegation becomes a real option.

1st class Sunday

The derby between Assendelft and Fortuna W. was already played on Saturday evening. In a nice match, the visitors from Wormerveer were ultimately 0-3 too strong. This also keeps them in the race for the safe places. Assendelft, on the other hand, seems to have to focus on achieving the playoffs to avert relegation.

2nd Division

The task of at least trying to avert relegation via the playoffs is becoming more difficult for OFC (Sun) by the week. On Saturday, a visit to Noordwijk was lost 3-0, so that the deficit on IJsselmeervogels remains 8 points with five games to go.

3rd class Saturday

OFC (sat) that also fights against relegation suffered a major defeat at Reiger Boys. In Heerhugowaard it became no less than 9-0. Hekkensluiter ZVC’22 lost 0-3 to Castricum. The game of Fortuna W. (Sat) was moved at the last minute to next Wednesday, April 19.

4th grade Saturday

In the battle for the promotion places, ZCFC and WSV’30 (sat) were unable to take full advantage of the defeat of competitor Kolping Boys. Both teams played a 1-1 draw against DTS and SVW’27 respectively.

Blauw Wit W booked an economical 0-2 victory at relegated RCZ (sat) and therefore not only distanced itself more from the playoff places, they are also fully competing for the promotion places.

5th grade Saturday

VV Jisp continues to participate fully for the promotion places in the 5th class. Self won 6-0 against low-flyer Kennemers, while three competitors dropped points. With only three games left, the team is in 4th place. Rood Wit Z (Sat) won the derby at Westzaan (Sat) 2-7.
