Florian Grillitsch was in the starting line-up against FC Emmen for the second time in a row and completed the ninety minutes at Ajax for the first time, but despite the limited playing time, the Austrian does not regret his choice. It was nice for the midfielder to appear at the kick-off again.
The Austria international got little playing time and suffered from injuries during periods. Grillitsch had to watch more than he liked. “It is of course not easy for a player if you don’t play for months,” the former TSG Hoffenheim player begins at the press conference, quoted by Football International. “But I don’t regret moving to Ajax. I have not regretted it for a second.”

Grillitsch had to work hard for it and that finally yields playing time. “I trained as hard as I could. Now I get the chance and I want more. I’m getting into the rhythm more, although I’m not used to playing ninety minutes like today.”
In the next two weeks, Ajax will play against PSV twice, once in the Eredivisie and once in the final of the KNVB Cup. Due to the absence of Edson Álvarez in the league match, and the suspension of Kenneth Taylor in the final, Grillitsch has a good chance of playing time. “We can draw confidence from the match against Emmen”, the midfielder looks ahead to those matches. “We had some good moments and also a few moments where we should have done a bit better and a bit smarter with the last pass. If we do that, we will win next week.”
