Business laptop: choose an Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processor

In the search for a suitable business laptop, you will come across laptops with different types of processors. Basically there are two manufacturers of processors. These are Intel and AMD. For a long time, Intel was clearly the market leader. Nevertheless, you can see AMD catching up a lot lately. Business laptops are largely equipped with Intel processors. These are subdivided into categories indicated by the i. In total you have the Intel Core i3, i5, i7 and even i9. In this article, we’ll explain which processor is best for you.

In terms of performance, it works very simply as follows, the higher the number after the i, the better the processor is. Of course, this doesn’t quite hold true as a new i3 can outperform an older i7. If you purchase a new processor, this rule of thumb will apply. The first in line is therefore the Intel Core i3. This processor is suitable for basic work. Think of word processing, surfing the internet or watching videos. If you have a limited budget and you mainly work with light work, you can generally do well with a laptop with an Intel Core i3. If you are looking for a laptop with an Intel Core i3, the Lenovo ThinkBook laptop a good choice.

The Intel Core i5 is perhaps the best-selling series. This is because the i5 actually offers a perfect balance between price and quality. With an Intel Core i5 processor, you can already perform a lot more tasks than with an Intel Core i3. For example, Photoshop can already be run well on an Intel Core i5 and everything works just a bit smoother and faster. An excellent laptop with an Intel Core i5 processor is the HP EliteBook laptop. The i5 is an excellent choice if you want to get started with multitasking or running slightly more demanding programs.

If you really want to get the most out of it, an Intel Core i7 is a good option. In combination with a good video card, such as with the HP ZBook notebook models, then you can assume that you can run almost all programs. This is of course very important for heavier tasks such as graphic design or playing games. Naturally, a laptop equipped with an Intel Core i7 is also more expensive than with the lighter processors. We therefore only recommend going for an Intel Core i7 if you really need it. Otherwise, you can save money by choosing a laptop with a cheaper processor.
