Which scene do you remember the most?
A little spoiler, but in the second episode there’s a scene with a stillbirth. That is of course super sad, but it is played so beautifully and movingly at the same time. When I read the scene in advance in the script, I was completely blown away. Of course it was no different on set. The part I had to play was a big challenge in this scene. As a person I see something very intense, but as a pediatrician you are of course somewhat distanced, because you shouldn’t get into that emotion. In addition, as a doctor you see this more often, so it is normal for you, as it were. Your job at that time is to apply your medical knowledge, reassure patients and ensure that everything goes well. Normally it’s very nice for an actor to take in emotions and express them, but now my character had to keep that very much at a distance. That felt like a crazy split. It was difficult to find a balance, because doctors are of course not completely numb.’
