Puck Pieterse impresses herself in cyclocross and MTB with her technical skills. As one of the few top women, she jumps over the bar like it’s nothing and on a course where it’s all about technique, she’s already unbeatable.
At the moment, after the shortest road season ever (or so she said herself), she is working towards the mountain bike season with a fifth place in the Strade Bianche. She wants to collect points from the elite this year to qualify for next year’s Olympic Games in Paris.

But of course that doesn’t mean she’s not on her racing bike. Last weekend, for example, she did a round that the Amersfoortse led through the city of Utrecht. She was on the road with Jesse Sytema, who was baptized ‘De Paling uit Leusden’ by Puck.
He rides in the U23 team of the Utrecht cycling association UW & TC De Volharding and it is clear that he also has the necessary skills. In a video that Pieterse posts during her ride, we see him bunny hopping up the famous stairs of the Jaarbeursplein in Utrecht near the station.

Pieterse himself can go back to work for real in May. Then the World Cup season on the mountain bike begins. Initially that would happen in Valkenburg, but unfortunately that round is cancelled. Now the season starts May 13 with the round in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic.
